June 2020 Sample:

Hi all,

Welcome to this sample of the Only What Matters newsletter, a monthly roundup of goings on within our community and around the web.

Minimalism found mainstream popularity during a thriving economy, so we had to ask, does it have a solution to every possible problem? We seek to answer this in our latest blog post, The Danger of Minimalism.

Within the community, our moderator, Chris, fell in love with Outlier Futureworks after being a lifelong denim devotee. Tys, member since February, unveiled the project he’s been working on for some time; an all-in-one bag designed specifically for one-baggers. Finally, we’re seeking responses! What has brought you the most joy while social distancing? Is it cooking? If so, what are you cooking? Has COVID-19 changed your lifestyle or view of minimalism in any meaningful way?

Around the web, Spencer Kornhaber, culture writer for The Atlanticmuses about the similarities between life during the pandemic and “modern luxury” minimalism aesthetics. Meanwhile, minimalist filmmaker Matt D’Avella teams up with chef Kevin Curry to design a quick, customizeable, and delicious minimalist meal prep dish. And to end with a bit of humor, this cartoon from The New Yorker questions if paring down to the bare essentials was the right choice leading up to a pandemic.

That’s all for this sample issue! Thanks for your interest in the Only What Matters newsletter and we look forward to seeing you in the community.
